With the much-anticipated A-league men’s season kicking off this weekend, an array of young Australian musical talent has teamed up with the league to bring you its new theme song.
Burgeoning Australian artists Young Franco, Tkay Maidza and Nerve have combined with the A-leagues to release an upbeat, punchy number titled ‘Real Nice (H.C.T.F.)’.
Zimbabwean born singer songwriter Tkay Maidza and Brisbane based rapper Nerve provide the vocals with a host of football references, such as the catchy hook “when we get the pass let’s go, let’s go / when we take the shots you know, you know”.
While avid football fan, DJ and producer Young Franco puts the finishing touches on it with layered and creative club beats giving this one a major World Cup vibe.
The track will feature as part of the new Channel 10 Paramount + coverage and is accompanied by a feel-good football flavoured music video with Melbourne City and Olyroos star Marco Tilio as well as Sydney FC and Matildas young gun goalkeeper Jada Whyman.

This theme song is a refreshing change from the usual overlap and collaborations between the music and sporting scenes that we have seen in the past in Australia and embodies the reinvigorated direction the A-leagues are taking this season.
‘Real Nice (H.C.T.F.)’ represents the young, diverse and modern culture that the game in this country so desperately desires and acts as another step the league is taking to turn the corner and embrace the new era of its existence.
