2020 has been a troubling year in so many ways. The adidas Predator 20+ ART is a stunning collaboration between adidas and London based artist Reuben Dangoor which aims to celebrate unity in diversity.
While this initially was intended to release in line with Euro 2020 which would have seen multiple cities in different countries working together and hosting the tournament, the change of messaging still holds up working in these different circumstances this crazy year has served up.
Football brings to light many issues in society that different groups are facing. These boots aim to send a positive message out through the football community and the detail on the product does this remarkably well.
Reuben Dangoor used the Predator as his art canvas and came up with a design that represents the unifying power of football. The predominantly black upper allows the multi-coloured unity signs to pop and stand out with first bumps, handshakes and love symbols made from hands coming together and connecting.
The three stripes in white stand out subtly on the boots giving them the proper adidas Predator feel.
Fans of the Predator 20+ TR will be buzzing to see the laceless upper riding on a 4D midsole for controlled energy return. This is the first 4D model to arrive at Ultra Football.
Who would have thought that even a fist bump between friends would be a concern when these boots were made? Hopefully in the not too distant future we’ll be able to fist bump, high five and handshake without worrying about anything at all.
Cop the limited collection adidas x Reuben Dangoor Predator 20+ ART in store at Ultra HQ or online from 5PM (AEST) Friday 10/7/20 here.
