Adidas Launch The Classic 20/21 FC Bayern Munich Home Jersey

You can’t write off the football institution that is Bayern Munich. After a slow start in the 19/20 campaign which lead to the sacking of Niko Kovač and the promotion of Hansi Flick, Bayern turned things around to storm home to their 9th consecutive Bundesliga title – largely down to Flick’s astute man-management and high intensity game plan and also to the incredible exploits of Ballon d’or chance Robert Lewandowski.
The 20/21 FC Bayern Munich home jersey aims to continue where things left off. It’s a simple design that is in line with the club’s approach to how they play and operate as one of the biggest clubs in the world: win at all costs and get on with it in a club jersey that remains consistent without the attention some other massive clubs look for.
The jersey comes through in the ever-classic red and white colourway which looks to unite the club’s sense of tradition and the bond with the entire FC Bayern Munich family the through the club mantra, “Mia san mia” which translates to “we are who we are”.
Stripe details have been sublimated into the fabric to give the jersey a fresh new look which is no mean feat for adidas given the club’s strict ruling on what the club wants from their home jerseys. It was only recently that the club announced that blue will no longer be featured on any future home jerseys – a shame for fans of some the club’s best retro designs of yesteryear but a decision respected as it was born from fan pressure. The fans are the lifeblood of any club after all.
