PUMA launch the 20/21 Westfalenhallen Station Inspired Borussia Dortmund Home Jersey

The new 20/21 Borussia Dortmund home jersey is inspired by the legendary Westfalenhallen underground train station, a key landmark which acts as the gateway that leads into the heart of Dortmund.

When fans head to the Westfalenstadion to watch Dortmund play, the underground station is a starting point for fans as they start their journey. It is embedded in the fan culture of Dortmund.

The specifically crafted black graphic print pays homage to the station, taking elements of the architecture and bringing them to live on the jerseys. There is an illuminated compass found on the floor of the station which is a beloved feature that fans hold close to their heart. This compass has also been reassembled and constructed onto the yellow base of the jersey to create an eye-catching and dynamic silhouette.

We’re all for wild jersey designs. In a world where you need to keep things fresh and exciting, sometimes you’ve just got to change it up completely. It takes balls to create a polarising design some fans might be outraged with but when they come off they’re a classic that people end up paying hundreds for years later.  You’ve got to hand it to PUMA for going for it and with proper design story telling that ties in fan culture we think it’s a winner.
