Best 20 Jerseys Of The 23/24 Season
Tue, Dec 05.23

As another year draws to a close, it's time for a recap of the best moments in the world of jerseys. There's been some absolute fire from various brands this year, notably the Three Stripes, who has really set the stage both on-field and off-field.
We've seen the ranges for 2024/25 already and let's just say the biggest brands in football aren't slowing down when it comes to driving jersey culture. It's going to be a massive year ahead. But before diving into the future, let's take a moment to revisit the year that was - 2023 - with our selection of the best 20 jerseys from the 23/24 season.
20. Olympique de Marseille 23/24 Third (Puma)
We're kicking things off in the south of France with a club that easily ranks among the most passionate and intense fan bases in Europe. Just a glance at a few off-pitch incidents involving Marseille of late is enough to understand the fiery and fervent nature of this club's fan base. The Olympique de Marseille 23/24 third jersey pays homage to the "Peuple Volcanique" (Volcanic People), as the club describes its passionate fans.
The bold pyro-inspired orange camo Marseille 23/24 home jersey design links back to the vibrant atmosphere inside and around the Stade Vélodrome that the fans create. The burning passion of these fans is something the club aims to channel and use to their advantage on matchdays, making it one of the most intimidating away stadiums for visiting clubs. We appreciate that both the club and Puma have dedicated the design to the most vital people - the fans.
19. PSG 23/24 Third (Nike)
Next up are Marseille's Le Classique rivals, and Paris Saint-Germain takes the 19th spot on our list. We couldn't overlook the fact that the iconic elephant print, a design synonymous with the Jordan brand since its debut on the sneaker scene back in 1988, has been incorporated into a football jersey for the first time here.
The collaboration between PSG and Jordan has delivered a number of memorable releases over the years, and in our opinion, this one stands out as among the best. The tonal Hechter Stripe looks undeniably iconic, and we anticipate that fans will hold this jersey in even higher regard in the years to come. 'Iconic' truly encapsulates its essence. One MJ would definitely approve of.
18. Liverpool 23/24 Home (Nike)
We're sticking with the Swoosh, as our next stop takes us northward from Paris to the north of England. The Liverpool 23/24 home jersey opts for simplicity, heralding the return of white trim on a classic design that evokes nostalgia for the club's glorious era of the 1960s and 70s. This design harks back to a time when Liverpool asserted dominance both domestically and abroad under the leadership of one of the important people in their history; Bill Shankly.
This particular jersey draws a specific reference from the team's attire during the 1973/74 season, which marked the final season of Bill Shankly's tenure before his retirement. It pays homage to an era entrenched in the club's history.
17. Deportivo La Coruna 23/24 Home (Kappa)
Now to Galicia, the rugged homeland of a Spanish football giant that currently finds itself languishing in the third tier, striving to climb back up the leagues but struggling to hit its stride. It's astonishing to reflect on how this team was once renowned as 'Super Depor' in the 90s and early 00s, securing a La Liga title in 2000.
Despite the decline in form, fortune, and finances, Kappa hasn't faltered in producing remarkable designs for this sleeping giant. The Deportivo La Coruna 23/24 home jersey stands out, drawing inspiration from the club's inaugural journey to America 70 years ago, incorporating a design that captures the essence of that historic occasion for the blue and white club.
16. AS Monaco 23/24 Home (Kappa)
Returning to the south of France, let's take a closer look at the AS Monaco 23/24 home jersey. Kappa has taken a fresh approach for the Monégasque side this season, showcasing the instantly recognisable 55° diagonal split of red and white across the front and back of the jersey once more. This classic design has been elevated with subtle yet elegant details, encapsulating the essence of Monaco perfectly.
Within the red section of the design, Kappa has introduced a neat repeating graphic, rounded off by the words "Daghe Munegu (Go Monaco!)" and "Rouge et Blanc (Red and White)" in gold on the inside of the collar. These touches of gold reflect the high-end nature of the sovereign city-state, known for its luxurious experiences and lifestyle. This jersey not only exudes luxury but also continues to embody a design that few clubs can claim entirely as their own. Keeping established classics fresh is a challenging task, yet Kappa has nailed it this time.
15. Borussia Dortmund 23/24 Cup (Puma)
Moving from the opulence of Monaco to the blue-collar city of Dortmund, next up is the Borussia Dortmund 23/24 Cup jersey, known as the club's third jersey offering.
Dortmund, traditionally known for its strong work ethic, embodies a town deeply rooted in hard work. Historically, many residents were employed in coal mining and steel production, shaping the landscape dominated by these industries. The design inspiration behind this jersey pays homage to this resilient German city, built to withstand the test of time. The retro-futuristic all-over print symbolises the upcoming generation poised to drive both the city and the club into the future.
What adds to the overall design of this jersey is the Evonik sponsor, which always seems to look sharp on Dortmund's jerseys, especially compared to the boxed 1&1 sponsor featured on the home and away kits.
There has been plenty of talk about Real Sociedad's home jersey for this season, but we think people have been sleeping on their away kit. Macron has smashed it with this sophisticated navy polo-style design, featuring a tidy collar, matching cuffs, and a subtly embedded cross print on the sleeves. The standout element we adore is the silver pillar running down the jersey—a fantastic touch. Kudos to Basque artist Iñigo Manterola for this design.
An interesting point to note for fans who appreciate this design is that the third jersey is equally stunning—it offers a complete contrast, predominantly using silver with a navy pillar and trim. Looking at the home, away, and third kits, you'll agree that Sociedad fans have been treated exceptionally well this season. And let's not forget, they also get to watch some good football on the pitch. It's a good time to be supporting La Real, that's for sure.
13. Bayern Munich 23/24 Third (adidas)
From Spain, we shift our attention back to Germany, heading to the Bavarian capital, Munich. Bayern Munich kits tend to be well-received for the most part most years, but the Bayern Munich 23/24 third jersey for this season has had Champions League winning hype around it.
12. Real Valladolid 23/24 Home (Kappa)
Next up is a club that is found in a city in the northwest of Spain, Valladolid. Known for its medieval religious sites and history, Valladolid is also known by the distinctive vertical purple and white stripes of Real Valladolid—a club currently positioned in La Liga 2. Notably, it's a club in the majority ownership of Ronaldo (O Fenomeno), which adds to its fame in present day.
The Real Valladolid 23/24 home jersey marks a return to Kappa after a decade. The design draws inspiration from the club's Copa de la Liga triumph back in1984, commemorating the 40th anniversary of that success. We particularly like the collar style and the subtle touches of gold seen via the Kappa logo on the front, as well as the repeating Kappa logos adorning the shoulders. Lovely stuff.
11. S.S.C Bari 23/24 Home (Kappa)
Next we head to a city nestled along the Adriatic Sea, the capital of the southern Puglia region - Bari. Once again, Kappa has stepped up its game for an Italian club. Following the trend set by Venezia who's jerseys have been getting out of hand good in recent years, S.S.C Bari continues this Kappa momentum with an exceptional 23/24 home jersey, designed by Robe di Kappa.
You might be familiar with Kappa, but who is Robe di Kappa? Robe di Kappa represents the high-end label of the Italian brand. This means the top talents within the company are dedicated to crafting this club's apparel. And they've certainly delivered with the stunning double red vertical band set against the white background. This design aims to encapsulate the spirit and pride of the city, celebrating the passion and determination displayed on the pitch by all who proudly wear the beautiful Cockerel logo. Definitely one of the best in world football.
10. Levante 23/24 Third (Macron)
Levante's inclusion on this list might have caught you off guard, but one glance at their remarkable Levante 23/24 third jersey will have you wondering if this is the Spanish team you should consider supporting.
The design draws inspiration from the centenary celebration of the Canonic Coronation of the statue of the Virgin of the los Desamparados (Our Lady of the Forsaken). Details all over the jersey pay homage to this significant event, with light blues complemented by intricate dark blue crown patterns adorning the fabric. Then there's the inclusion of the words 'Sempre en lo cor' (Always in our hearts) which adds just the right touch of detail to make this jersey truly memorable. It is, quite simply, a work of art.
9. AC Milan 23/24 Away (Puma)
As football and fashion world's continue to collide, it's no surprise that AC Milan, situated in one of the world's fashion capitals, would boast some of the finest jerseys in the game. The AC Milan 23/24 away jersey, dubbed a "match made in Milan," expertly intertwines heritage and fashion, exuding a casual yet sophisticated aura.
It is a design which celebrates a city that effortlessly became a fashion capital, embodying a Sprezzatura—an artful nonchalance in city form. This jersey accomplishes this blend of style and essence in an exceptional manner.
8. Manchester United 23/24 Third (adidas)
It's been a while now since this list focussed on the English Premier League, but we're back, this time highlighting the Manchester United 23/24 third jersey—an ode to a half-century of the iconic red devil logo.
This jersey design is simplicity at its finest. The predominantly white base, complemented by unified red accents and logos, stands as near-perfect as you can get for a jersey. Man United may not have found their groove on the pitch, but adidas has ensured they definitely look good on and off it.
7. Lazio 23/24 Home (Mizuno)
Mizuno football jerseys always catch our eye, so when we heard the Runbird was linking up with Lazio back in 2022, we were really excited to see what would come from the relationship. The Lazio 23/24 home design is exactly what we wanted to see—it's another gorgeously simple design that pays homage to the 1973/74 jersey the club wore to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Lazio's first Scudetto.
The best feature of this design is the tonal embossed graphic of the iconic Olympia eagle from the club's crest. Absolutely perfect! If they don't win the league, they deserve a Scudetto just for their home, away, and third jersey offerings anyway. Long live Mizuno as a football kit supplier.
6. Real Madrid 23/24 Home (adidas)
The biggest club in world football nearly secured our jersey of the year - that's how closely we rate this top 10. As we've mentioned, keeping iconic designs fresh can be challenging, and there might not be a more iconic or recognisable kit in football than Real Madrid's classic white home jersey.
What adidas has delivered here with this crisp all-white base, complemented by touches of gold that seamlessly link to the Real Madrid crest, deserves your attention. It's an outstanding home jersey that's bound to gain even more popularity over time, especially as it's currently being worn by a player having an extraordinary debut season for Los Blancos—Jude Bellingham.
5. Lyon 23/24 Home (adidas)
This season is shaping up as nothing short of a disaster for anyone associated with Olympique Lyonnais. At the time of writing, the club finds itself languishing in the relegation zone. There have been managerial changes, clashes with the Ultras, movement at all levels of the club, and a general feeling of despair connected to this, without a doubt, enormous club in French football.
It's ironic that the design inspiration for the sensational Olympique Lyon 23/24 home jersey aims to celebrate the club's success in the 2000s. The colours and emblematic references also pay homage to the gastronomic heritage of the city of Lyon, known as the capital of gastronomy. The club's identity is further highlighted by the red and blue vertical lines on the jersey. The tricolor collar, featuring the club's emblematic colours, evokes the chefs who embody Lyon's gastronomical prowess and pass on their know-how to the younger generations. We hope the club doesn't get relegated this season - not only because of the jersey, but just how important they are to the health of French football.
4. Ajax 23/24 Third (adidas)
From Lyon to Amsterdam, and once again, we could have chosen any of the Ajax home, away, or third jerseys to feature in this list. The Three Stripes really do spoil them However, we couldn't overlook the Ajax 23/24 third jersey this year. Ajax has been a conveyor belt for talent over the years—Cruyff, Rijkaard, Bergkamp, the de Boer brothers—the list is quite extraordinary. That essence is captured in this design mantra—diamonds are the future. Honouring the past, present, and future of the club—always acknowledging that the legends of tomorrow are forged at the club. There's no doubt about that.
We were huge fans of the way the club presented this third jersey too in its launch content. Giving off some strong Uncut Gems vibes. Unreal.
3. Venezia 23/24 Third (Kappa)
As we've already mentioned, Kappa and Venezia have been a match made in heaven since linking up back in 2021. The Venezia 23/24 third jersey for this season is no exception and stands out as one of the very best.
Those who have visited Venice will recognise the vibe here. The design pays homage to the gondoliers of Venice, who spend countless hours ferrying visitors through the city's historic canals while adorned in their iconic horizontal striped black and white tops. Kappa and the club have flawlessly blended this essence—adding gold details via the logos and 'Citta Di Venezia' on the front, really elevating this design. The red collar completes the fit, making it a real standout, one that had to secure a spot in the top 3.
2. Athens Kallithea 23/24 Home (Kappa)
A club which makes its debut in one of our top 20 list; the Athens Kallithea 23/24 Home jersey showcases a predominantly navy colour with thin, spaced hoops alternating from white to gold. These hues complement the Kappa logos and the 'ΕΜΣΤ' wordmark representing the National Museum of Contemporary Art Athens. That orange and yellow collar was a bold choice - but it works in stunning fashion.
We understand that some of you reading this may be eager to add this jersey to your collection. However, the demand for these jerseys skyrocketed, leading to them being sold out everywhere, with no news of a restock coming anytime soon. Let's hope for some positive news in the future.
1. AS Roma 23/24 Away (adidas)
Surprised that we conclude our top 20 in the Eternal City? We wouldn't assume so. Once again, all three jerseys from AS Roma could have easily landed in our top ten, much like their city rivals Lazio. However, our choice is the AS Roma 23/24 third jersey—featuring the iconic Lupetto badge and an incredible use of colours on the black base.
The design draws inspiration from Roman art, employing Rome's three historical colours—yellow, orange, and red—making this jersey a true work of art in itself. On the sleeves, you'll notice the eye-catching guilloché pattern, inspired by the ornamental elements of ancient Roman mosaics.
The best news about our number one pick is that we still have some in stock. What are your thoughts on our list? Agree with our number one pick? Let us know over on Instagram.
We've already seen all the jerseys for next year, and we can assure you there are even more incredible designs to come. The top 20 becomes harder with each passing season.
