10. Leeds Away (adidas)
The recently released Leeds Away Jersey starts our countdown. adidas have used blue for this season's away jersey which has been frequently used on Leeds Away and Third Shirts since the 1980s. The Jersey contains a navy blue base with a lighter blue modern tonal design, very similar to last season's maroon third jersey.
Although the pattern is fairly modern, Leeds have used two shades of blue on Jerseys before throughout the 2000s. Mark Viduka and Harry Kewell wore a similar shirt in 2001/03.
9. Southampton Home (Hummel)
Hummel have taken over Southampton for the 21/22 season and delivered a beauty. The new Southampton Home Jersey celebrates 20 years since the club moved from the Dell to St Mary’s and is based off of the last home jersey the club wore at its previous home.
After last season's sash, the new kit returns to the traditional red and white stripes of Southampton and a thick black V neck collar, taking inspiration from the 2001/02 Home Jersey. If that wasn’t enough, the jersey is also integrated with augmented reality technology that fans can scan and gain access to exclusive content, including a 3D James Ward-Prowse, what more could you want?
8. Norwich Away (Joma)
The Norwich Away Jersey is made by Spanish sport brand Joma who are building a name for themselves in football and will continue to do so with more Jersey’s like this one. The Norwich Away is predominantly black with turquoise accents on the sleeves and Collar.
Norwich have frequently used black for an away or third jersey in the 2000s, starting in 2008. The Jersey is a nod of sorts to the 2002/03 Centenary shirt the club wore made by Xara which also used the bright turquoise colour for the special edition shirt.
7. Leicester Home (adidas)
Another adidas jersey makes the list, this time the Leicester home. The Leicester Home Shirt for the 21/22 season is blue with a white v neck collar similar to the one from the 97/98 shirt and white trimming and cuffs with touches of gold. The Jersey has a sort of camouflage pattern, similar to the new Lyon away jersey and not too dissimilar to the previously discussed Leeds shirt.
The new Leicester Home shirt also gives a debut to new shirt sponsor; FBS, an online trading firm after 10 seasons of King Power
6. Chelsea Home (Nike)
The first Nike shirt to make the list is the Chelsea Home. The classic Chelsea blue home shirt received a big change up, taking inspiration from the Op Art movement which emerged in the 1960s. The jersey consists of an optical illusion-inspired pattern that moves from zig zags on one side to a checkerboard pattern on the other.
The 21/22 jersey also no doubt takes inspiration from the 91/92 Umbro shirt which also consisted of an outrageous pattern.
5. Villa Away (Kappa)
Kappa kick off the top 5 with the new Aston Villa away jersey. The Villa away kit is an obvious nod to the 1982 European cup winning side and the away jersey which was worn in the final. The shirt is a traditional white away with thin claret vertical stripes with claret and blue trimming.
There have been several attempts at the 82 remake, with macron in 2014 and Nike in 2007 but the new Kappa effort is the best since the original Le Coq Sportif.
4. Arsenal Away (adidas)
Arsenal are probably more known for their kits than their football these days and since joining up with adidas, they rarely disappoint. The new Arsenal away jersey is inspired by the many yellow away shirts the club have used, particularly from the 70s through to the 90s. The most notable nod to the past is the canon replacing the club crest which was used up until the early 90s.
3. Manchester United Home (adidas)
adidas have been on fire with their 21/22 jerseys, none better than the new Manchester United Home. TeamViewer come on board as the major shirt sponsor this year after nearly 10 years with Chevrolet. The white crewneck collar and sleeve cuffs are a throwback to the 1968 European cup winning side and the Sir Matt Busby days. Manchester United beat Benfica 4-1 in the final thanks to goals from United legends Bobby Charlton and George Best.
2. Liverpool Away (Nike)
Nike and Liverpool are only in their 2nd season together but have already produced a future classic. The new away kit comes in an off-white colour with flashes of 'bright crimson' for the Liverpool crest & Nike Swoosh and 'dark atomic teal' on the sleeve cuffs & collar.
The shirt is inspired by the cult classic 1996/97 shirt of the same colourway which Robbie Fowler wore while banging in 18 goals
1. Tottenham Away (Nike)
Our favourite premier league jersey for the 21/22 is the controversial new Tottenham Away shirt. You either love it or you hate it, and we love it. The Nike Spurs 21/22 away shirt combines a black base and "Venom Green" logos with a ridiculous colourful pattern in an all over graphic creating a jersey unlike anything we have ever seen before.
