Puma has unveiled an absolute stunner to end the season. What we have here is the limited edition Puma King Top Dassler Legacy football boot.
The German brand has gone back through the archives for inspiration, coming up with this legendary version of the King. The boots have been created to honour Puma founder, Rudolph Dassler.
Back in 1948 after a split between the two Dassler brothers, Rudolph set out to create the fastest sports brand in the world. 20 years later, Rudolph applied this mantra to a football boot and the King was born. An iconic boot that still looks on point today with a effortlessly elegant leather look.
If you hadn't heard of the Dassler name before and you're wondering, what happened to his brother? He continued on the same path as his older brother - creating adidas.
The gorgeous design pays tribute to Rudolph's days working as a laundry boy. This was by no means a glamorous job worthy of this design, but it was a job that set him on the path toward founding Puma.
The design includes laundry-inspired care labels, premium materials and gold metal charms. When you add in the iconic King fold over tongue and custom premium leather with the classic double stitching and silicone backing you have one hell of a boot. The best part? There's only 100 of these available worldwide.
Tech wise the boots feature a conical stud configuration with translucent tips. There's also a lightweight outsole for superior traction.
The predominately white King adds gold accents and the original Dassler branding. This celebrates a legacy of innovation and broken records from a brand with a DNA in football.
