Melbourne Victory Launch the 22/23 Away Jersey

10 years on from the kit used in the 2012/13 season Melbourne Victory have launched this seasons away shirt, reminding us all of that Archie Thompson winner in the Melbourne Derby. 

This season's kit sees victory return to that famous volt colourway for the first time since its debut in 12/13. In a club first, the kit was designed by fan Anthony Borg in collaboration with club sponsor Canva.

Its not hard to see how Anthony’s design won the competition, inspired by everyone’s favourite MVFC away kit. 

The 2012/13 season was a successful one for Victory, finishing 3rd in the league under Ange Postecoglou but fell just short of reaching the Grand Final, losing 1-0 to eventual champions Central Coast in the Semi-Final. 

The kit is most famous for Archie Thompson’s 93rd minute winner in front of a sold out AAMI Park, getting revenge after losing the first derby 2-1 at Etihad.
