LC23 and Kappa have teamed up for a stunning SSC Bari collection

LC23 and Kappa have teamed up for a new collection for Italian Serie C outfit SSC Bari. History, ancient customs, popular culture and seafaring traditions are the inspiration behind these. If you loved the Kappa x Venezia collection and thought it wouldn't be topped soon, you may just change your mind.
LC23 was created in 2010 by Leonardo Colacicco, a management engineer with an eye for fashion. Colacicco is born and raised in Gioia del Colle (Bari) which goes a long way in explaining how well these designs have come together. After studying and working in Milan, Colacicco has since returned to him hometown to create his own brand and site to sell his works.
The name of the brand comes from his initials and his lucky number. All LC23 garments are entirely produced in Italy, particularly in his hometown region of Puglia.
Looking at the details on the jerseys, Colacicco and Kappa have once again nailed it. The collection pays homage to the city of Bari so well. You just need to look at the "La Bari" wording on the front of the neck collar to see that those who have put this together get it. The team was called "La Bari" until the 1970s and the true fans of the red and white's continue to call their team that today.
Another standout new feature is the cockerel logo which has been scaled back from its other elements. The logo comes through in a rubber, raised patch which keeps things premium as well.
The home match jersey is made up of vertical stripes with an intertwining octopus tentacle pattern. Crazy, huh? What better way to show the world this is a seafaring city. The off-white and black matched with the red stripes are a classic combination for the club. This time looking super retro due to the fact they have been deliberately darkened.
Underneath the collar on the back of the jerseys is the printed phrase which translates to 'know how to love Bari, always look at it with eyes in love". This phrase was made famous by the founder of Bari Calcio. Black shorts with an off-white side panel are matched with off-white and red horizontal stripes to round out an incredible kit.
Things go up a notch when you look at the keeper kit which also utilises the octopus design. For the keeper kit the main colour used is teal, which recalls the colours of the Bari sea. We reckon this is going to sellout fast so if you're a fan you better be at the ready come launch time tomorrow.
If you don't fancy the on-pitch gear then you'll surely love the off-pitch offering. There's two pre-match jerseys, a sweatshirt, polo shirt, T-shirt and trousers to choose from. All desiged to take the heat from the on-pitch gear off the park and onto the streets of Bari.
This collection comes at an important time for the club. Bari are sitting pretty at the top of Serie C and are dreaming of getting out of their Lega Pro days. Much like the rise of Venezia and their unbelievable kits, Bari will be hoping this apparel heat helps them light up the pitch and take the club forward.
