Adidas have been on fire with Arsenal’s jerseys over the last few years. Last seasons offerings were incredible with the away ‘bruised banana’ inspired design one of our favourite jersey releases ever at Ultra Football.
For the 20/21 Arsenal home jersey for the upcoming season adidas have referenced the clubs prolific “Art Deco” period in the 1930’s and 40’s as the Three Stripes look to unite generations of fans with a design to suit all.
The chevron graphic is inspired by the “A” within the design, while it also has ties back to Arsenal’s geometric crest which the club used back in that art deco period – specifically 1936 – 1949. If you thought the A inspired pattern looked like a tile pattern you’d be on the money, as the layout of the tiles are a nod to the flooring at former stadium Highbury’s East Stand. What a stadium!
We love the dark shade of red used throughout the jersey, it is so strong and pops so nicely against the white sleeves, collar and three stripes on the side. The darker shade was chosen once again to celebrate the club’s proud heritage.
Love the jersey? You’ll be able to see the 20/21 Arsenal home jersey on pitch sooner than you think with Arsenal choosing to debut the new design against Watford in the Premier League on July 26th, followed by their much anticipated all London FA Cup Final at Wembley against Chelsea on August 1st.
