10 of the Best Football x Fashion Jersey Collaborations
Tue, Feb 21.23

Football kits have become increasingly fashionable to wear in recent times. In the past, football garments were mostly worn by players on the field and fans in the stands only. Nowadays, they are being embraced as a part of streetwear culture and a lifestyle option.
Many clubs and brands have recognised this trend and have started collaborating to create limited edition kits that appeal to wider audiences. These collaborations often feature bold graphics, unique designs, and unexpected color combinations that push the boundaries of traditional kit designs.
The football shirt has become a popular and fashionable item of clothing that can be worn both on and off the field. There have been so many great collaborations over the years, but here are some of the most notable projects that come to mind from us here at team Ultra Football:
1. Nike x Off-White:
Back in 2018, Nike collaborated with streetwear brand Off-White to create a collection consisting of everything from track jackets to shorts and socks to a limited-edition football, all releasing the day the 2018 World Cup started. From a design standpoint, the collection features a mostly black and white aesthetic with accents arriving via bright pops of orange and the occasional blue “strike point” dot introduced on Virgil Ablohs collaborative Zoom Fly Mercurial Flyknit sneakers. Varying bold typefaces, a lion crest, and a black-and-white checkerboard, most pieces nod to classic football aesthetics.
2. Juventus x adidas x Palace
In 2019, the trio of Juventus FC, adidas and London based skateboard brand Palace teamed up to create a special 4th kit. Adding to the collection was also a range of training jerseys, tracksuits, pullovers and accessories. The designs featured a fine mix of classic football aesthetics and streetwear style all at the same time.
3. Adidas x Human Race
In 2020, adidas linked up with the talented musician, designer and all round creative Pharrell Williams' Human Race brand to create a collection of football kits for five different clubs, including Manchester United, Arsenal, Real Madrid, Juventus and Bayern Munich. The designs featured bright colors and bold patterns inspired by iconic kits of the past.
4. PSG x Jordan
In 2018, PSG was given the Jordan Brand treatment from Nike. A very first time to step into football for Jordan, and a very first for a globally recognised football club to opt into a brand so close to streetwear. The initial designs featured the iconic Jumpman logo on the 3rd and 4th kits, which were black base with white details, and white base with black details. To date, the ongoing partnership has delivered many lifestyle pieces, from apparel to sneakers.
5. Umbro x Supreme:
Bringing back some iconic 90s shapes and fabrics, Stateside streetwear label Supreme partnered with the double diamond, Umbro for their Spring/Summer 22 collection. This tight collection featured a tracksuit in a range of colours alongside some co-branded footballs.
6. adidas x Yohji Yamamoto:
Back in 2014, the three stripes worked with award-winning Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto to create a groundbreak Real Madrid third kit. The striking all-black kit takes cues from Madrid's values of greatness and determination, as well as Yamamoto’s own aesthetic, and incorporates two mythical beasts that originate in Eastern culture: the dragon king and dragon bird. Interlaced across the front of the shirt, the king symbolises the glory and power of the club while the bird represents resistance, determination and agility on the way to victory.
7. Umbro x Patta:
In 2018, Umbro and Amsterdam based brand Patta took on two redesigns of the Ajax away kits from the 90’s. This was the second time that both brands came together for co-creation, but this collaboration was significantly more meaningful, as Umbro celebrated a redesign of their old jerseys whilst Patta was celebrating their hometown club. No wonder why football icon Edgar Davids was seen rocking this kit instantly.
8. Arsenal x adidas x 424:
Taking their existing relationship with the US-based streetwear brand to a new level of drip, Arsenal and adidas launched a collaborative capsule with 424 in 2021. This range combined streetwear with staple adidas’ performance products, beyond just a football kit. Yet again, this entire project helped to blur the lines between football and fashion.
9. New Balance x Stone Island
Stone Island has long been a recognisable brand in the football terraces, but in 2022 the brand finally saw its on pitch promotion thanks to this collaboration with New Balance. It was a huge moment for the Italian brand, as Raheem Sterling laced up in the Stone Island New Balance Furon v7 boots whilst playing at the Qatar World Cup. The kit itself was impressively made from 100% recycled polyester, and came paired with matching shorts and black socks to break up the total camouflage look.
10. AC Milan x Puma x KOCHÉ
Extending the exploration beyond football and into sustainability in the game, AC Milan and Puma teamed up with Parisian brand KOCHÉ to unveil an upcycling collection at Paris Fashion Week 22’. The capsule was made of unused football jerseys completely reworked in limited edition.
KOCHÉ commented:
“Upcycling is a new way to re-imagine fashion and respect the environment. It was exciting for us to create this limited edition capsule while considering our impact on the Earth.”
Football is one of the most influential forces in fashion right now, in particular to streetwear. These are just a few of the many great football jersey collaborations from over the years, and there are sure to be even more innovative concepts coming in the near future.
