Kylian Mbappe has done more at the age of 22 than most players dream of in their entire career. Mbappe’s honours list includes 4 Ligue 1 titles, 3 Ligue 1 golden boot awards, 5 more domestic trophies, 2 Ligue 1 player of the year awards, World Cup young player of the tournament, a Fifa Golden Boy award and much much more.
Kylian has clear ambitions to be the successor to Lionel Messi & Cristiano Ronaldo and to take the crown of the world’s best player. With the young Frenchman with nothing left to win in France, and the arrival of Lionel Messi in Paris, is it time for Mbappe to move on? We take a look at several potential Suitors;
Real Madrid
The most obvious move for Kylian would be Real Madrid. The Spanish giants have flirted with the idea of signing Mbappe for years, since the departure of Ronaldo, and Eden Hazard not hitting the heights that have been expected, the club is short a genuine superstar. Those close to Mbappe believe that Real would be the preferred move for Kylian, with them going very close to getting their man in the last transfer window.
Liverpool
Liverpool doesn’t usually spend big on established stars but could they be tempted by Mbappe. The reds should have the money to spend, with their transfer business a lot quieter than many of their rivals. The big arrivals of late have been Konate, Thiago & Jota spread across two seasons. Could we see a front three of Mane, Mbappe & Salah next season? Probably not but the reds can dream
Manchester City
Manchester City is always in the conversation for big stars looking for a new home, and it doesn’t come much bigger than Mbappe. City are certainly short of a centre-forward with Aguero’s departure and failing to sign Harry Kane before the season started. Could City afford Mbappe after spending £100 million on Grealish? If they have still have the Kane money spare then probably, would Mbappe make the move to City? That’s the question
Chelsea
Chelsea are one of the other few clubs that could afford Kylian but would probably need to sell, with plenty of attacking stocks. The club has recently spent big on the likes of Lukaku, Werner, Havertz, and Ziyech and then have Hudson-Odoi, Pulisic, and Barkley all fighting for a spot in the starting 11.
Barcelona
If you’re in financial trouble you probably shouldn’t be looking to spend big on one of the worlds best, but according to recent reports, Barcelona may do just that. If Mbappe plays out the rest of the season at PSG he’ll be out of contract and Barcelona are reportedly ready to offer whatever Madrid are offering plus more. Would Mbappe move to the current basketcase that is Barcelona?
Newcastle United
Haha, no.
