Own the Moment #1: A-League Melbourne Derby
Mon, Dec 31.18

Melbourne Victory's impressive six-game winning streak came to a screeching halt as Dario Vidosic scored in the 92nd minute to snatch a stunning 1-1 draw for Melbourne City in a breathless Pre-Christmas derby on the Saturday. With Victory's star Keisuke Honda with a late withdrawal and City's key forward Bruno Fornaroli the night became a whole lot more exciting than it already was from this tense affair.
Melbourne City was the team desperate for the points and to try upset Victory's long win streak before heading into Christmas. A gift all City fans were desperately waiting for. Victory led the charge early, dictating the possession and saw them in control over City. However, City were fighting at every chance and did not give up at any stage.
Heading into the second half the game became a whole lot more tense. Antonis used a deft touch to release Kosta Barbarouses, who hared down the left flank and whipped a ball towards the far post, where Ola Toivonen wriggled into space and tapped home.
It was a moment City skipper Scott Jamieson will want to forget, too, with the full-back caught ball watching as Toivonen scored.
From there, the clock looked set to wind down, with Victory set to record a hard-fought 1-0 win. That said, as the minutes slowly came to a close in injury time, Jamieson found the slim chance to make amends. A brilliant run from McGree found Jamieson who lofted a cross to the back stick for Vidosic to head home.
At was at this moment the whole stadium was left breathless. Victory fans stunned, and City fans not sure what to believe. A purely magical moment for all football fans. Victory were certain to seal the top spot before the Christmas break, however it was quickly washed away.
Victory and City share the points for the game and make the table a whole lot more interesting after the summer break.
