The stripes are back as adidas launch the 20/21 Juventus home jersey.
While we applaud brands trying to shake things up with designs, we appreciate some fans regret that the traditional stripes had been replaced with a never before seen design.Last season’s Juventus jersey sure was a big deal. Why? The iconic stripes were not present in a move to try to make the Italian powerhouse look more appealing to a wider, global fan base by going with a split design seeing one half of the front white with the other side black, separated by a thin pink line down the middle.
Adidas listened to those concerns it seems, with the famous stripes returning on the 20/21 Juventus home jersey – a representation of the evolving spirit of a club still respectful of it’s long developed traditions.
The upcoming jersey’s modern aesthetic is inspired by the world of modern art, with the black stripes applied to the front and sleeves with a brushstroke approach. This results in a shirt that stays true to tradition, but also signals in a fresh era for Italy’s most successful team who have just taken out their 9th straight Scudetto.
The elegance of the black and white brushstroke design is amplified with gold details throughout the kit from the all gold logo with 3 stars, adidas logo, jeep front of jersey logo and three stripes panelling down the sides.
