The adidas Copa silo has always been for the purists. It's fitting that the new updates and name now pay homage to fans of the iconic boots. Copa Pure is here and it's a massive step in the right direction.
Firstly the best thing to focus on is that the new Copa Pure is lighter than ever. It takes the positives from the outgoing Sense design and makes them even better, while also looking a lot more true to the Copa name in our opinion. Long live the visible Three Stripes.
To put some numbers behind it - adidas have brought the overall weight down from 268 to 220 grams. They haven't done this by using lighter, non-leather materials as well. In fact, the Copa Pure has over 50% more leather. A welcome update for fans of true leather boots, and we know there's lots of them in Australia.
The only thing we should note? The leather is now a Fusionskin calf leather as opposed to kangaroo. That doesn't make them any less comfortable though. Quite the opposite thanks to the PRIMEKNIT collar and updated tooling on the sole.
This is a really different launch of a new boot as well. Why? Because this time round adidas crank up the interest in one hit with three colourways of the new boot arriving in one go. That means you have a big choice on your hands if you want to play with the immesnse touch and feel Copa Pure provides. Or, if you're a superfan, you could grab all three.
