PUMA has been known as one of the best speed football boot manufacturers for years. With the rampant success of the PUMA Future, the Big Cat have decided to end the ONE model to fully focus on speed once again.

Yesterday we posted the PUMA protype we got our hands on, teasing the upcoming speed release which we can now reveal as the PUMA Ultra. Did you notice the teasers from PUMA using Antoine Griezmann, Usain Bolt and Lewis Hamilton? There was reasoning behind using 3 of the fastest athletes ever in their sports.
The all new Ultra completes a super-charged line up for PUMA lovers with two red hot silos to choose from. We were already massive fans of the Future, now we’re massive fans of the Ultra – not just because we share the same name!
Firstly the debut colourway just looks fast as hell, doesn’t it? If you are getting evoSPEED vibes you aren’t alone and that’s something to be celebrated. We welcome the nod to the past with undeniable speed vibes on display. The predominantly orange upper collides with the gradient on the front of the boot beautifully and it’s subtle logo on the outstep rounds off a really impressive chassis. Almost race car like… which makes sense considering the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team helped with the design of this boot.
The Ultra was designed for players with “uncatchable speed” and ignites “a new era of speed” for the German brand. The lightweight boot features all new technology in the form of the new MATRYXEVO upper which is constructed with reactive Kevlar and Carbon yarns.
This new upper provides support during fast-forward motion, so if speed is your biggest attribute then look no further – this boot was designed for you. A good upper is nothing without good tech below, and with the SpeedUnit soleplate which is inspired by track running spikes, you’ve got all the tools you need to play at top speed.
The upper also features an additional GripControl Pro coating to improve ball control which is needed considering how fast you’ll be tearing up the pitch in these.
We can't wait to see Antoine Griezmann lace these up. What are your thoughts on the new release? Let us know in the comments below!
You can secure your pair before the Ultra goes on sale in store and online from August 24th here.
