Puma Launch The 21/22 Marseille Home Jersey
Tue, May 18.21

Puma has released one of our early favourites for jersey of the year - the Olympique de Marseille 21/22 home jersey.
The new jersey represents the bridge between the glorious past and the promising future of the club, with the design tying back to those from the late 80's and early 90's when the French powerhouse was at the peak of its powers - winning many league titles and even the European Cup back in 1993, beating AC Milan in the final with the likes of Deschamps, Völler, Bokšić and Desailly running around in the iconic white and blue kit. This was a defining moment for a highly passionate and proud club with a decorated history.
The base colour is, of course, white which is synonymous with the club. One of the obvious design updates compared to last year is the reinterpreted V-neck, which was very much in vogue and fashionable when they won the European Cup back against Milan.
The blue stripes on the sleeves tie back to jerseys in that successful timeframe which often had the blue Three Stripes running diagonally down from the right hand shoulder - and of course the 88/89 classic with two stripes wrapping around both sleeves Jean-Pierre Papin lit up the league in.
This time around the stripes are utilised in a greater number on both sleeves to modernise the design, while also bringing power and fluidity to the jersey.

The city's coat of arms is seen on the neckline which rounds off a super strong jersey to kick off our range for next season. The Uber Eats logo on the front is growing on us with every release - with the big benefit being that fact it is just block lettering, meaning there's no clash of colours or anything like that - the sponsor logo stays plain and allows the jersey to do its thing.
Marseille is a highly supercharged and passionate city - the club's supporters are among the most intense found anywhere in Europe and beyond. The colours of the club run in the veins of these supporters who's passion brings the city to life and urges the players on. It's a passion that not many other clubs can rival - and it's captured perfectly in this launch video from the club and Puma featuring ex-player Éric Di Meco.

Tech wise the new Olympique de Marseille 21/22 home jersey combines 100% recycled polyester with advanced PUMA dryCELL thermoregulation technology to ensure uncompromising fit and mobility, keeping the players dry and comfortable. The jersey also integrates an Ultra-light jacquard structure into the back of the jersey to enhance breathability during intense performance.
