Ahead of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Nike have dropped the Rawdacious pack, and it's all about the colour. Designed to celebrate and represent the ‘global unity of sport’.
The pack includes fresh colourways for the Mercurial, Phantom GT and Tiempo, giving us one of our first looks at Nike’s next generation. Each boot is white, supposedly symbolising unity and contains splashes of ‘Pink Blast’, ‘Total Orange’, and ‘Bright Crimson’ across the boots.
The boots also come with a chrome finish soleplate which looks unbelievable and gives us an extra flash of colour, with Nike aiming to use colour to inspire cultural & emotional value in its footwear and football boots.
“Colour has the nuanced ability to invite both reaction and reflection at once,” says Martha Moore, Nike VP, Central Colour Product Design. “You see a colour, and you immediately react in a certain way. Colour can also open the door to history, connections to other disciplines and to memory. In creating this year’s palette, we worked to consider colour holistically to best represent a moment in time.”
This pack will most likely be worn in pre-season by Nike’s top athletes including Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappe & Bruno Fernandes.
If you're wanting to get your hands on the new Phantom GT or needing a fresh Mercurial colourway you can grab yours from 6pm on the 15th of July.
Tiempo fans - unfortunately this Rawdacious colourway have been cancelled into Australia. Your best bet is to get yours online from nike.com for this release.
