When the latest Mizuno MIJ drop arrives we'd usually start off gushing over Mizuno's craftsmanship, attention to detail and all round respect for their trade. We feel we don't need to anymore though - you guys all know.
We've built a strong group of Mizuno followers down here in Australia and this release is for you. You're the ones that will read this because, like us, you just love the brand.
What we have here is the Mizuno Morelia Wave. Originally created back in 2003, the Morelia Wave was the merger of two great football boots - the Morelia II and the Wave Cup.
Now in 2021 the Japanese brand has decided to commemorate the rich heritage of Mizuno Football and Wave technology, which has been used in Mizuno footwear over the last 30 years, with this awe-inspiring limited edition Mizuno Morelia Wave.
Wave technology focussed on two key elements: cushioning and stability. Did they nail them? You bet. We'd back this brand to pull off anything they set their minds to.
Tech wise this is a faithful recreation of the 03 model, with the only real update found via the new colourway. This time around the premium K-leather is seen in white with red and blue used throughout. The red on the fold down tongue is our favourite part and one purists will enjoy.
Gold is the only other colour seen on the shoe via the Morelia Wave wording on the heel which serves as a reminder of the premium nature of this product. A boot sent from the stars. The pinnacle of football boot tech.
This pack highlights how far Mizuno's technology has come, and how exciting the future is for football technology. Mizuno will always be at the forefront of tech and we love that we can bring these to fans down under.
Fans of this limited edition release will need to snap a pair up fast. Only 3000 pairs of the new Mizuno Morelia Wave football boots will be available worldwide, 1000 of which are saved for the Japanese market only... if you do the maths you know we don't have a whole heap down here in Australia.
The Next Wave pack doesn't just stop with the Morelia Wave remake as well. Fans of the super light Morelia Beta and Rebula models can also pick up the latest versions which have been included in this stunning pack.
What's your favourite from the bunch? Let us know in the comments.
