5. 1992/93 adidas Away Jersey  

The 1992/93 River Plate jersey shares the same design as one of the most iconic kits in football history; the Arsenal ‘Bruised Banana’ Jersey. The template was used by Romania & the Czechs and Slovaks at the 1994 U21 European Championships. The side finished second behind Boca in the Primera Division.

4. 2018/19 adidas Home Jersey  

The River Plate 18/19 jersey features a 90s inspired take on the classic River home design. The Jersey is predominately white with a red sash and a black EQT collar and three stripes on the shoulders. The Jersey was worn as the side finished 4th in the Primera Division and won the Copa Libertadores, beating out rivals Boca Juniors.

3. 1999/00 adidas Home Jersey 

The 1999/00 River Plate Home Jersey by adidas was sponsored by Quilmes, an Argentine brewery that also sponsored Boca Juniors the same year. River Plate won the Primera Division with the likes of Juan Pablo Angel & Javier Saviola banging in goals before they made big European moves. 

2. 1996/97 adidas Away Jersey  

In the 1996/97 season, River wore the famous adidas originals template from the mid-90s most notably worn by Germany at the 1994 World Cup. River Plate won the Copa Libertadores in 1996 and went on to win the Primera Division title in 1996/97. 

1. 1985/86 adidas Home Jersey 

The 1985/86 Home Jersey is probably the most iconic jersey in the club’s history. The club wore the traditional white jersey with a red sash as the club smashed the Primera Division, finishing 10 points clear with Enzo Francescoli scoring 25 goals in the league. River completed a historic double, also winning the Copa Libertadores, beating out Columbian side América de Cali.
