adidas Launch The Solar Energy Pack Featuring The Predator 24
Wed, Jan 17.24

Want a clear indication that the Three Stripes are cooking? Look no further than the new adidas 'Solar Energy' pack, featuring the new launch colourway of Predator 24 that has set the boot world alight.
Kaka, Stevie G, Zidane, Becks, Rui Costa, Raul, Del Piero - is that enough big names for you? The list goes on and on. These boots throw it back to the Predator superstars of old while also looking ultra-modern for the current-gen to take the silo into another dimension. Jude, Trent, our very own Kyra Cooney-Cross, and a host of other current stars get to enjoy these now. Predator. The REAL Predator and all it stands for. Back to its roots. Back to normal—Pred being at the top of the charts.
The hype exploded at the end of last year with the Predator 30 edition, limited to 1994 worldwide, throwing it back to the year Predator burst onto the scene in an iconic colourway and with details that captured the imagination of older and younger fans alike. Then adidas went bang again with the 'Predstrike' pack, which was a true teaser lead-in to the exciting year ahead; 2024. The year things tilt back into adidas' favour.
First up, we love the fact all three silos arrive in different colourways, spearheaded by the Predator 24. No more 'Freak' and 'Edge' vibes - just Predator and the year it launched. Perfection when you consider this boot is iconic enough - it doesn't need anything else in its title. Now, let's dive into all three starting, of course, with Predator.
The Predator 24 is the lightest Predator ever. There's no better way to modernise, right? We all love lightweight boots, but we know with these ones that you still feel locked down, comfortable, and protected for all that action you're going to see on the pitch. The Control Frame 2.0 outsole has evolved from its predecessor and keeps you feeling confident in terms of that lockdown support.
The new upper is synthetic, but don't fear if you're a staunch leather fan - these truly feel good to the touch and on feet with a suede-like feel. Trust us here; they work. Our new boot reviewer based in Melbourne, Noah Cavanaugh, is cooking up a review on these, which you'll be able to check out from tomorrow (Friday, January 19, 2024). He'll go into detail around the new tech such as the new Strikeskin Technology, which is a massive focus with Predator all about precision shots and scoring bangers.
The iconic "Core Black/White/Solar Red" looks perfect in our eyes. We love the touch of yellow, especially via the elastic tongue strap, because it brings even more attention to the tongue again. The whole colourway just works and is everything a Predator should look like. Early sales have shown that everyone is in agreement here.
Options-wise, you've obviously got the fold-over tongue model, laced tongueless option, and the laceless for those fans. We've also got turf and indoor options, and perhaps one of the most exciting ones is the new Predator Freestyle which you can check out below. A new way to rock Predator 24/7 and shoes that are perfect for freestyling, 5-a-side, and pick-up matches in the streets - these shoes feature the classic Samba outsole underfoot for grip when you’re nutmegging opponents and scoring screamers, or just looking to add some Predator style to your street style.
It's easy to get carried away with Predator, but we've got to move on, and next up is the X Crazyfast. The latest speed silo, also set for a big year (stay tuned!), comes through in a "Team Solar Yellow/Core Black/White" colourway with a touch of red through the soleplate. It looks super sleek and fast, which we're accustomed to now. Nothing has changed by way of tech, but that's fine for now. There are other focuses for the moment, and as we alluded to, the Three Stripes speed silo will have its time in the sun again soon.
Finally, there's the COPA Pure 2, which comes through in an "Ivory/Core Black/Solar Red" colourway. Don't sleep on these as they are a quality pair of boots for those fans of comfort and control.
