Adidas Launch the 20/21 Manchester United Home Jersey

Manchester United’s crest is one of the most iconic in the world of football and adidas football has used it as the inspiration behind the fresh new 20/21 Manchester United Home Jersey.

Adidas’s design team has aimed to fuse modernity and innovation for the new jersey, to create something that connects the people and stands for unity after researching the values and iconography that connect athlete and fan.

It’s a massive season ahead for Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s side who have produced some brilliant football of late, especially since Bruno Fernandes joined and took the teams performances to another level. With performances on the rise it is fitting that the team will wear such a strong look for the upcoming season.

Focussing on the crest has produced a subtle pattern through the fabric which is a direct nod to the threads of the club crest. The fine graphic print provides a unique pattern and detailing onto the classic red colour blocked background.

‘Manchester United” is seen throughout the jersey through the use of different red tones which is a really nice touch you don’t notice on first glance. A subtle touch that is sure to please fans proud to wear the clubs name on their chest. 

The product team at adidas made this nuanced design possible via an innovative ‘space dye’ technique that allows separate yarns to be dyed individually, and at different lengths, to give a finish with depth, and with full details only viewable by the wearer.
